Job Description:
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and organized Legal Assistant with civil litigation experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential administrative support to our attorneys specializing in civil litigation and contribute to the efficient operation of our legal practice. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for the legal field to utilize their experience and grow professionally.
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys specializing in civil litigation with case management tasks, including drafting and filing legal documents, scheduling court appearances, and managing deadlines
- Conduct legal research using online databases and other resources specific to civil litigation matters
- Prepare correspondence, memos, and other written communications related to civil litigation cases
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other stakeholders involved in civil litigation matters
- Maintain organized and accurate electronic and physical files for civil litigation cases
- Assist with billing and invoicing tasks related to civil litigation cases as needed
- Perform general office duties, such as answering phones, managing mail, and ordering supplies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Previous experience working in a legal environment, with specific experience in civil litigation
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Professional demeanor and strong work ethic
